A4e and Khulisa – Integrated solutions to assist offenders in South Africa
A4e are proud to be working with Khulisa, our partners in South Africa to increase access to learning provision and employment for ex-offenders.
Through their ethos of restorative justice, Khulisa has successfully delivered programmes to rehabilitate, reintegrate and educate people across 5 provinces in South Africa.
 Khulisa is a non-profit organisation which provides education, training and personal development in communities, schools, places of safety and correctional facilities. The following link provides further information on the great work Khuilsa do – www.khulisaservices.co.za/index
A4e and Khulisa are working in partnership with the local Department of Correctional Services in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, to create a holistic approach that reduces the recidivism of offenders.
We are currently carrying out a research project with each of the 6 Centres of Excellence, initially working with approximately 500 inmates per annum, to identify and establish programmes to increase learning provision and access to employment.
A4e will be presenting back to the DCS in May 08, the findings and our recommendations, for each of the 6 Centres of Excellence.
