David's Story

New Skills, New Life.

Thirty-year old David Page had been unemployed for five years when he first came to A4e in Norwich, UK.

He'd had odd jobs but found gaining permanent work difficult due to a lack of qualifications. He came to A4e looking for advice and guidance on how to make himself more employable. He attended several sessions to help build up his confidence and skills.

He was more than impressed by his experiences at A4e, saying:

'This is my seventh week here. I have already gained more qualifications in that time here than in all the years before. It has been a lifeline to me and turned my life around. People who want to work can get a lot out of this scheme.'

As part of his training, David completed the CSCS Health and Safety test (obligatory for those who wish to work on a building site) and a fork lift course, Rough Terrain.

David's willingness to learn valuable new work skills soon paid off. He was eventually offered a full-time permanent post as a multitradesman at a national construction company.
